{"id":51,"date":"2013-03-04T12:07:05","date_gmt":"2013-03-04T18:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.lacentralrr.com\/2013\/03\/04\/more-track-going-down\/"},"modified":"2015-08-05T16:53:26","modified_gmt":"2015-08-05T21:53:26","slug":"more-track-going-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/2013\/03\/04\/more-track-going-down\/","title":{"rendered":"More Track Going Down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Layout progress continues at a slow, but indeed at a steady pace.\u00a0 As you&#8217;ve read in previous posts, I&#8217;m starting with all of the (mostly) hidden staging track as it&#8217;s the furthest away from the aisle and the most difficult to work with.\u00a0 The Louisiana Central trackage is complete, including wiring, and is operational, sans a switch machine at the entry to the area.\u00a0 This past weekend saw the start of trackage for the Illinois Central staging area.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve got enough roadbed completed to do all of the staging track at that end of the layout.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve run the power bus along with the track I&#8217;ve been installing, and tapping the bus along the way to feed the track as I progress.\u00a0 I have the bus temporarily connected to the command station\/booster for testing purposes.\u00a0 Last week I installed a backboard and shelf for one of the three planned booster districts.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll be using DCC Specialties PSX circuit breakers to further sub-divide each power district, and I&#8217;ve installed the three C\/Bs for the district I&#8217;m working in.\u00a0 I still have to run the interconnecting wiring between the booster and the C\/Bs, and then connect the power buses.\u00a0 When that is done, the wiring for the entire sub-district will be complete, and the other sub-districts can be connected as they&#8217;re run.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t generally get any work done on the layout during the work week, however I thought maybe I could devote a bit of time in the evenings to working simple projects, like building car kits and such.\u00a0 I have an old roll-top desk in my living room that is unused, in fact it was my hobby workbench before my permanent bench was completed out in the train building.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve decided to reactivate the old desk as a secondary workbench, and have recently started to restock it with common tools and supplies&#8230;.whatever is needed for the &#8220;simple&#8221; projects.\u00a0 I have read several times that doing small tasks like that can have a significant impact on overall progress, so I&#8217;m going to give it a shot.<\/p>\n<p>As I&#8217;ve mentioned before, I operate regularly on Lou Schultz&#8217;s C&amp;O Railroad over in Covington.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure most of you know that Lou has been going through quite an ordeal with a health issue for the past month or so.\u00a0 Please keep him in your prayers to help get him through this.<\/p>\n<p><em>-Jack<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Layout progress continues at a slow, but indeed at a steady pace.\u00a0 As you&#8217;ve read in previous posts, I&#8217;m starting with all of the (mostly) hidden staging track as it&#8217;s the furthest away from the aisle and the most difficult &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/2013\/03\/04\/more-track-going-down\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[17,8,11,19],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-51","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-electrical-dcc","category-roadbed-track","category-social","category-tools-techniques"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/51","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=51"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/51\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":704,"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/51\/revisions\/704"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=51"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=51"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=51"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
