{"id":4903,"date":"2026-07-05T11:52:20","date_gmt":"2026-07-05T16:52:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/?p=4903"},"modified":"2026-07-05T11:52:22","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T16:52:22","slug":"ring-that-bell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/2026\/07\/05\/ring-that-bell\/","title":{"rendered":"Ring That Bell!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During its<em> Louisiana Bicentennial Railroad Tour<\/em> in 2005, Southern Pacific steam engine #745 and its train spent a few hours in Hammond, Louisiana.  While there, the cab was opened for visitors to climb aboard and inspect.  And this little fellow not only got a cab tour, but an opportunity to ring the locomotive&#8217;s bell.  With a bit of assist from his helper, the bell was set to ringing loud and clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was a Sunday, May 1st in 2005, and a nice crowd showed up to visit the train and the display cars it pulled.
