{"id":21,"date":"2012-02-05T14:06:14","date_gmt":"2012-02-05T20:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.lacentralrr.com\/2012\/02\/05\/room-construction-update\/"},"modified":"2015-03-15T16:51:47","modified_gmt":"2015-03-15T21:51:47","slug":"room-construction-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lacentralrr.com\/Blog\/2012\/02\/05\/room-construction-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Room Construction Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The construction aspect of the valence and the view blocks is complete!\u00a0  The final task is to prep and paint everything.\u00a0 A long, tedious and  often frustrating task is finally winding down.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, I&#8217;ve done a bit more in preparation for the benchwork.\u00a0 The L-girders themselves have long been fabricated, and the legs and bracing have been ripped to size on the table saw.\u00a0 I ripped this material from larger size lumber as it was cheaper than buying the material the proper size to begin with.\u00a0 Ripping material is easy and goes quickly so I found the time worth the savings.\u00a0 This weekend I got all the gussets cut out for the leg braces.\u00a0 When benchwork erection starts, it should go pretty quickly since all the materials are present and ready.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from painting the valence and view blocks as mentioned above, the only task that remains is to paint some clouds on the backdrop.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been reading about all the various techniques in the various magazines, and I&#8217;ve seen a couple You Tube videos on the subject.\u00a0 I have some scrap Masonite that I think I&#8217;m going to paint up Sky Blue, and then I&#8217;ll have something to experiment with, trying out various techniques.\u00a0 If you want to suggest something that worked for you, please post it&#8230;I&#8217;ll try anything in my quest for a technique that works for me.<\/p>\n<p><em>-Jack<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The construction aspect of the valence and the view blocks is complete!\u00a0 The final task is to prep and paint everything.\u00a0 A long, tedious and often frustrating task is finally winding down.
